Zala Gvardjančič

Flutist Zala Gvardjančič was born in Slovenia. She is currently studying and working as a musician and flutist in Vienna.

In June 2023 she received her master’s degree in concert flute in the class of Univ.-Prof. Walter Auer at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw). At the same university she is also currently studying pedagogy in flute. She plays in various chamber ensembles and project orchestras such as Flute Duo, Flute Quartet, Proarte Orchestra, Webern Chamber Philharmonic, Novus Orchestra and Kaiserorchester.

In the summers of 2016, 2019 and 2021 she was a member of the IOIA Orchestra, summer orchestra with members of the Vienna Philharmonic. She has performed with the Webern Symphony Orchestra: in 2021 with conductor Andrés Orozco-Estrada at the Vienna Musikverein and in 2022 with conductor Alain Altinoglu at the Philharmonie in France.

In October 2021 she was a substitute of the Vienna State Opera Orchestra at the gala concert at the Musikverein in Graz under Philippe Jordan. In addition to her work in orchestras and chamber ensembles she is also interested in working with children and adults; she teaches flute and recorder and leads music workshops for children.
