Russian violist Liliya Nigamedzyanova was born in the Urals. After completing her studies in Russia she came to Austria in 2012 to further perfect her playing skills at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz in the violin class of Prof. Silvia Marcovici. It was during this time that she discovered her love for the sound of the viola and decided to devote herself entirely to this instrument.
From 2014 to 2018 she studied viola at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw) with Prof. Thomas Selditz and graduated with distinction. She is a chamber music partner of artists such as Benjamin Schmid, Thomas Selditz, Clemens Hagen, Christian Altenburger, Reinhard Latzko, Ernst Kovacic, Martin Hughes, Danjulo Ishizaka.
Liliya is a founding member of the Artel Quartet.
